Ridenour, Hienton & Lewis has a broad based, multi-state Environmental Law practice.  The firm provides the entire scope of environmental representation including preventive counseling and defense.  Our attorneys advocate for our clients' needs and assist clients in understanding legal requirements pertaining to compliance and the administrative process. 

The attorneys at Ridenour, Hienton & Lewis provide a broad based, multi-state Environmental and Natural Resources Law practice.  The firm has environmental practitioners licensed in the states of Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and the District of Columbia which allows us to represent our clients in environmental disputes across the United States.  Our attorneys remain current and up to date on “hot topics” through active involvement in many trade association committees concerning current environmental and natural resource issues.

The firm provides the entire scope of environmental representation including permitting of industrial production facilities, cleanup of contaminated sites, advice on compliance and reporting, comments on legislation/regulation, environmental education/training, environmental audits, enforcement issues, and drafting securities disclosures/environmental reserves.  We also advise on lender liability, fiduciary liability and officer and director liability under environmental laws.

In particular, we represent clients in hazardous waste and related litigation, in civil enforcement proceedings, disputes with federal, state and/or county agencies and litigation brought under a variety of environmental laws.  We advise clients on compliance with or potential liability under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act, the Toxic Substances Control Act, the Endangered Species Act, the Clean Water Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, the Solid Waste Disposal Act, the Clean Air Act, the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation & Liability Act, the Emergency Planning & Community Right-To-Know Act, the Pollution Prevention Act of 1990, the Federal Land Policy and Management Act, and analogous state laws.

Representative clients include oil and gas companies, metal recycling companies, manufacturing facilities and mining companies in federal and state environmental permitting proceedings and litigation associated with federal or state agency permitting decisions.  Additionally, the firm has extensive experience representing industrial manufacturing clients with regulatory counseling, responses to emergency incidents and chemical spills, response to Notices of Violation, permit development, environmental audits and compliance matters.

“Going green,” “sustainability” and “renewable energy” are becoming economic mandates in the business community.  Sustainability-driven laws, rules and public policy are affecting businesses and investments.  At the same time, the Green Revolution is creating new business opportunities for companies and individuals who anticipate and understand them.  Our attorneys represent clients facing legal issues relating to sustainability requirements and initiatives, electronic product take back regulations, greenhouse gas (GHG) regulation, “green building” standards, alternative energy projects, regulatory developments and renewable energy portfolio standards.
