James R. Hienton, a member of the firm, has practiced commercial and tax law in Phoenix for over 25 years. His practice includes the investigation of corporate practices and procedures; campaign finance and disclosure matters; merger, acquisition and disposition of businesses; the formation of business entities; commercial financing transactions; and rendering general corporate and business advice to clients.
As a certified tax specialist of the Arizona State Bar Association, Mr. Hienton works to structure business transactions in a most tax-effective manner. He has handled the acquisition and disposition of many different types of businesses, including auto dealerships, banks, radio stations and rental equipment companies in transaction amounts from $100,000 to over $100,000,000.
Mr. Hienton's tax background has enabled him to develop an extensive estate planning practice. He has represented numerous clients in state and local tax matters, including lobbying a State Sales Tax exemption through the Arizona Legislature. Additionally, he has extensive experience in advising non-profit organizations and has prepared, filed and obtained numerous tax-exempt rulings. A Phoenix native, Mr. Hienton has experienced first-hand the tremendous economic growth in the metropolitan area and has worked with and advised many growing Arizona companies. |
